Why West Papua Army and NOT TPNPB OPM or TPN/OPM ?

Gen. WPRA Amunggut Tabi (WPRA) from the Centreal Defence Headquarters of West Papua Revolutionary Army (WPRA) explains simple version of the resion “Why West Papua Army and NOT the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPN PB) of Organisasi Papua Merdeka (OPM) hereby called TPNPB – OPM?

Papua Merdeka News (PMNews)  asked Gen. Tabi regarding the dispute between the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) with West Papua Army (WPA) and TPNPB-OPM under the leadership of Jefry Bomanak Pagaawak (OPM) and Sebby Sambom (TPNPB)l.

TPN/OPM, TPN.PB, TPN-PB, TPNPB-OPM, TNPB and OPM

General WPRA Tabi says, the first problem is to do with the name TPNPB. There have been so far three groups using the same name, TPNPB with three variations of TPN.PB-OPM (Tentara Pembebasan Nasional Papua Barat – Organisasi Papua Merdeka), TPN-PB (Tentara Pembebasan Nasional Papua Barat), and DM-TPNPB (Dewan Militer Tentara Pembebasan Nasional).

The first TPN-PB – OPM was set up by Komite Nasional Papua Barat (KNPB) in Biak in 2012. This TPNPB then formed affiliation with Jefry Bomanak Pagawak who has been based in Scotiau, Vanimo, Port Moresby, Kiunga and Mount Hagen.

Another TPNPB is also called TNPB, short name for “Tentara Nasional Papua Barat“. This TNPB has been called TPN as well under the command of H. R. Joweni until the formation of WPNCL on 20 December 2005 when Joweni was elected as the Chair of the WPNCL.

The Military Council of the West Papua National Liberation Army (DM-TPNPB) is chaired by Nikolas Ipo Hau and Gen. TPN Abumbakarak Omawi Wenda as the Supreme Commander.

Among these, there is West Papua Revolutionary Army (WPRA), which is called Tentara Revolusi West Papua (TRWP) with Gen. WPRA Mathias Wenda as the Commander in Chief. The WPRA was formed as a result of TPN/OPM Summit that was held after being endorsed by all military commanders in the jungles in 2005-2006 and held in Vanimo, in which WPRA was officially separated from the political organisation called OPM (Organisasi Papua Merdeka).

WPRA anticipated that a political grouping will be happening in the near future, most probably OPM with new leadership and organisation.

WPRA separated itself from OPM in order to help OPM as a political organisation to function properly as modern political organisation for West Papua Independence. It took very long time to separate between military wing and political organisation of Free West Papua Movement. Indonesia has been using this unclear naming and concept to brand the movement as separatist, trouble makers, and finally terrorists.

The name TPN/OPM (TPN slash OPM) has been very commonly used among West Papua independence fighters, making it complicated for Papuans ourselves to see who we are: “politicians” or “military fighters”. The rhetoric, the way of thinking, the concepts of the independence movement, as well as the naming of all have been mixed and misrepresented and misunderstood both by Papuans ourselves and more by the international community.

WPRA separation from OPM gave path to all other groups within West Papua independence movement to call themselves NOT TPN/OPM anymore, but it became DM-TPNPB, TPNPB and TPN-PB, or TPN.PB.

WPNA, NRFPB, TPN/OPM, WPRA, TPNPB, WPNCL

The story of TPN/OPM, TPNPB and WPRA is one side of the coin. The other side is the story of West Papua National Authority (WPNA), West Papua National Coalition for Liberation (WPNCL) and the NRFPB (Negara Republik Federal Papua Barat – The Federal Republic of West Papua) under the leadership of Waromi – Yaboisembut.

OPM and TPNPB belongs to the TPN/OPM group, commonly called the One-Star Group (Kelompok Bintang Satu). The other party is called the 14-Stars Group (Kelompok Bintang Empatbelas), who totally have nothing to do with the OPM, but have some things to do with TPN under the leadership of H.R. Joweni, who then became the chair of WPNCL.

We all know when WPNCL applied for MSG membership, the MSG leaders asked West Papuan independence fighters to re-apply with all-inclusive organisations, primarily because the NRFPB was not inside the WPNCL.

Why WPNCL was not regarded as fully representing West Papuans or West Papua?

Only one possible answer: One-Star Group only applying for membership, the 14-Stars Group was not included.

Now, why West Papua Army, and NOT TPNPB?

West Papua Army (WPA) is the name as a result of political lobbies and calculations. It was formed as step to get out from the “One Star – Fourthen Star Groups Stigmatization“. We all want to be free from Indonesian colonialism, therefore we need to unite politicaly and militarily.

Therefore, ULMWP is not undermining or forgeting the OPM, and WPA is not getting rid of the TPNPB, but we are progressing from one chapter to the next one, from one page to the next one, towards our goal: Free and Independent Republic of West Papua.

So, all TPN/OPM, TPNPB, TPNPB-OPM, DM-TPNPB, WPRA, WPNCL, we are all from the “One -Star Group”. We are now joining with the “Fourteen Star Group”, called NRFPB and TNPB (Tentara Nasional Papua Barat – Wet Papua National Army).

Pidato 1 Juli 2019: Urusan Internal dan External Papua Merdeka

Memperingati Hari Ulang Tahun (HUT) Kemerdekaan Republik West Papua yang diproklamirkan di Waris Raya, Port Numbay, West Papua oleh para pemimpin Organisasi Papua Merdeka (OPM) masing-masing Seth Jafth Roemkorem dan Jacob Hendrick Prai, maka telah dilangsungkan sebuah Upacara Militer di Markas Pusat Pertahanan (MPP) West Papua Revolutionary Army (WPRA), Kampung Yako, Vanimo, Independent State of Papua New Guinea yang dilangsungkan tepat pukul 12.00 tanggal 1 Juli 2019.

Kesempatan kali ini Chief. General WPRA Mathias Wenda memberikan kepercayaan penuh kepada Gen. WPRA Amunggut Tabi untuk menjadi Inspektur Upacara. Komandan Upacara dipimpin oleh Maj. WPRA Jilan Gombo.

Dari semua anggota MSG dimaksud, “the big brother” di kawasan Melanesia ialah Papua New Guinea sendiri, yaitu bagian Timur Pulau New Guinea.

Focus on What You Can Do and What You Should Do

Get distracted by side-events or non-elemental aspects of a game is always disastrous for a soccer team, particularly for a striker or a goal-keeper when facing the ball in the foot or in front of the goal-keeper. Stickers should forget anything and everything else, and focus only on the “ball”, when they are in the field, and particularly the ball is already in their foot. Goal-keepers also do that, they anticipate anything and everything that can happen with the ball, and focus on the ball itself rather than the striker himself.

Concentration and focus become key elements in a soccer-player when it comes to the point where the player must decide at what second and with what move he should strike to score.

Just imagine if a striker and goal-keeper start complaining about how one of his colleagues performed in the field and began demanding that fellow player to perform better or follow the way he wants him to play. Imagine when the ball is already on the strikers’ foot, but the goal keeper is still complaining about his friend who miss-kicked the ball a few minutes before.

Many West Papuans are just doing the opposite of what we should be doing right now. We are now engaged in our own internal battles, unnecessary battles to do with who should lead our organisation, who should hold particular positions within the ULMWP (United Liberation Movement for West Papua), not on what we should do with the “ball: in our feed right now.

Many West Papuan political activists today need to learn what is the meaning of our lives and the meaning of West Papua Papua independence struggle, and set aside “egoism” both personal ego and group ego, as this life that we have is too short to deal with too many side-events and unsubstantiated issues. And more importantly, we do not have a second life for coming back to continue and complete the struggle. We only have one life, and this one life is very short one. So we have to do something meaningful for our beloved motherland in this short time.

And more important of all, the ball is on our feet, it is now the time to strike, to watch so that Indonesia does not strike and score a goal in Melanesian countries, defeating Melanesian integrity as free people and undermining Melanesian sovereignty as a human race.

If we always wander around and thinking about how to satisfy our personal and group ego within West Papuans ourselves, then we should not claim ourselves as fighting for West Papua. We should declare ourselves fighting for our own self-fulfillment and self-realization. There is nothing wrong with this choice, however, the problem arises when we declare ourselves fighting for a free and independent West Papua, but we spend our time and energy in doing the something else, and worse doing just the opposite: hindering the struggle for freedom and independence.

From Central HQ of the West Papua Revolutionary Army (WPRA) we encourage all parties to humble ourselves, set aside our personal and group ego, and focus on how to fight against Indonesian occupation and colonialism. Let us forget talking about other fellow Melanesians. We are not enemies. We are just different, by the way we think, by the way we want to carry out our work to free our country. We are born into different territories and tribes, grew up with different surroundings and environments, but we should all agree upon one thing: We all experienced that the presence of Indonesia is deadly. We all agree that Indonesia should get out from West Papua. We all agree that we should fight them out, not by asking them, not by begging them, but by fighting, by demanding, by pushing them out.

We can work from our one identity, one mission and one destiny. We still have the power of people behind us. Only when we forget about our personal and group egos, we will deliver what we are supposed to deliver: a free and independent West Papua, and today, to ensure West Papua become full member of the MSG, a member of PIF and West Papua is listed under the UN Decolonization List.

That is the ball, and the ball is in our feet today. Let us focus on “the ball”, not the side-events, let us forget what is outside the field, let us humble ourselves and surrender to God, and let Him do His will though us.

Lt. Gen. WPRA Amunggut Tabi: Congratulations Hon. Powes Parkop MP for Re-Election

From the Central Defense Headquarters of the West Papua Revolutionary Army (WPRA) Lieutenant General Amunggut Tabi hereby would like to congratulate Hon. Powes Parkop MP for being re-elected as a Member of Parliament for a third term.

The relationships and cooperation between the Papuans in the western part of our New Guinea Island with Mr. Parkop started almost 30 years ago, when Mr. Parkop was a student In 2004, when Mr Parkop was a lawyer, I myself with my guard came to you, Mr Parkop, and encouraged you to become a politician. This was not a trick, it was an order from our supreme commander Mathias Wenda. He was the one who told us to come and tell you Mr. Parkop, to get involved in PNG Politics.

Through myself, he extended his gratitude for releasing him from PNG prisons. Many times my commander Gen. Wenda was arrested, and you helped his release many times. Gen. Wenda did not have anything to thank you. He just had an order, to let you know to campaign for a parliamentarian seat. He ordered me, “Do not come back here until he is elected as an MP. That is an order!”.

Well, I have carried our his many orders. But this time, I was not sure. I am not a politician, first of all, and secondly, I am now familiar with yourself, Mr. Parkop. I did not know how rationally how I will carry out the order. But I knew many miracles had happened to me, in carrying out his orders. I said to my ancestors and all the heroes who died already for the cause,

This is an order for us. Let us go together, Do not stay around here. You are spiritual beings, you are supposed to be powerful, omni-present, and you all must help me.

when I came to see you, I was on the way back from our fellow Melanesian brothers ni-Vanuatu, in the Republic of Vanuatu.

I was not sleeping well day and night. First of all, to make sure you will decide to campaign for an MP in PNG. It was at the right time, right person was ready. The Late Bill Skate passed away as the NCD Governor, and the city was about to hold a bi-election for the vacancy. In spiritual language, this is called, “co-incidence”, but modern people do not believe in it. We believe in it, we life in it, we breathe in it. I am true believer of a “co-incidence” and writing this letter is also another co-incidence.

Yes, I had in my hand some Euros cash, that Gen. Wenda himself gave me personally, and told me, “Do not count it, just deliver it to him!” Yes, I did just what he said. You remember, I handed that over to you one evening after you finished giving a talk, one of the preliminary campaign activities during your first time involvement in politics.

I stayed there with you, until I was assured and witnessed your own inauguration as the Governor of NCD (National Capital District) of our country Papua New Guinea. We also brought some elders all the way from West Papua. They told you,

“We bring out votes from West Papua. All those dead ones, and all Papuans in West Papua’s votes are with us, in this bilum that we hand over to you.” then they gave you the Wamena Bilum.

Those elders are still alive, and they always talk about you.

I knew at the early stages during our short conversations, when you looked at me when I mentioned about the order. I knew that you did not want to believe this is a real order. But now three terms already you have been a politician, and I now hope you believe it, as it is real, not a plan, not a suggestion anymore.

Since then, I never seen you. Now is already over 10 years. I have never met you as a Governor, but I did meet you four times when you were a lawyer, preparing yourself to become a politician.

I know, as a politician, you are different from Lawyer Powes Parkop that I knew then, and that I can explain to myself here. But one thing that still the same is this, “Our struggle to free West Papua and Melanesia from colonialism and colonial influences.” Yes hat is right, because it is our right to do.

On behalf of our ancestors, our heroes who died already in the jungles and in the villages, those who are still alive today all the way from Sorong to Samarai, on behalf of our future generations, and in the name of God the Creator and Ruler of Melanesia,

“Contratulations!”

Honourable Governor Powes Parkop MP

Humbly Yours,

Amunggut Tabi, Lt. Gen. WPRA

Personal Adviser to the WPRA Commander in Chief

Gen. WPRA Mathias Wenda, Selamat Terpilih Kembali menjadi Perdana Menteri Papua Timur

General WPRA Mathias Wenda dari Markas Pusat Pertahanan (MPP) West Papua Revolutionary Army (WPRA)  menyampaikan Surat Selamat atas kemenangan menjadi Perdana Menteri terpilih Hon.

Inilah yang mereka sebut sebagia “The Great Indonesia’ sebagaimana selalu dinyanyikan dalam National Anthem, “Great Indonesia”. Politik NKRi dan para politisi mereka tahu, Indonesia belum “Great” kalau seluruh pulau New Guinea belum dikuasai secara politik, ekonomi dan hukum.

Mereka selalu mengatakan seperti ini,

“If I can conquer occupy, , dominate, Papuans in West Papua and extract and take benefits of natural resources there, then what is the reason for anyone to suggest to me that I cannot do just the same in the whole Island?”

“If PNG itself is failing in its national development, and becoming one of the poorest countries in the world, then what is the point giving the other half of the same island an independent status?. They are better off controlled by us, Australia shouldn’nt have gave them independent status in 1975. They are cannibals, they think and talk about wars and tribal battles better than thinking about running a modern nation-state”

“there is a sin committed by the Indonesians in running the so-called Act of Free Choice”. This is not just an error, it is a sin before God, Our Creator and Protector. They have lied to many parties involved in the act that all Papuans in West Papua chose to be happy with Indonesia. Which is a total lie.

Inonesia is not a final entity, it is just an “imagined community” as already stated many years ago many by Bennedict Anderson. We do not want to be scared of the imagined entity, a fictional nation-sate, a dream nation-state. Yes Indonesia is politically mapped in world political map, but Indonesia does not exist in God’s created map

Do you still eat flesh?”

Kita mulai dari Organisasi Pembebasan Papua Merdeka (OPPM) di Mnukwar, PEMKA/TEPENAL dan TPN/OPM, FORERI (Forum Rekonsiliasi Rakyat Irian Jaya), Dewan Adat Papua (DAP), Lembaga Adat Papua (LMA), Dewan Musyawarah Masyarakat Adat Koteka (DeMMAK), Presidium Dewn Papua (PDP), West Papua Liberation Organisation (WPLO), West Papua National Authority (WPNA), Republik Papua Barat, Republik Melanesia Raya, Negara Republik Federal Papua Barat, WPRRO (West Papuan Peoples’ Representative Office), WPNCL (Wet Papua National Coalition for Liberation), WPRA (Wet Papua Revolutionary Army), AMP (Aliansi Mahasiswa Papua), Front PEPERA, TPN – PB, ULMWP (United Liberation Movement for West Papua)

Amunggut Tabi: West Papua Independence is NOT Limited to Peace, Stability and Security in the South Pacific

In response to Indonesia’s strategy approaching the governments in Melanesian countries by providing what it calls “security assistance to poor Melanesian nation-states”, Amunggut Tabi from the West Papua Revolutionary Army says

West Papua independence is not limited to peace, stability and security in the South Pacific region.

Please tell the world, this independence has more to do with wider issues, more lasting aspect, and it has universal benefits to the world. It has to do with the life on this planet Earth and to the life after life, rather than just limited modern nation-state anthropocentric sentiment of peace, security, and economic development in the South Pacific.

When Papua Merdeka News (PMNews) asked to clarify what Gen. Tabi means by his statement above, he says

All human biengs in the world know that New Guinea is the second largest Island on Earth after the Greenland. And all human beings also know that New Guinea is the home to the third largest rain-forests on Earth after the Amazon and Congo rain-forests. All human beings on planet Earth also know that New Guinea is home to the Second Tropical Glacier on Earth. It is home to the worlds species of flora, fauna and human bio-cultural diversity.

Of course, all these have nothing to do with economic growth and gross domestic products and mass production of the modern nation-states in this planet Earth. But one should note, that these facts have things to do with “life” and “death”.

New Guinea is not just full of natural resources to be exploited, as modern people know, but New Guinea has things to offer beyond economy, beyond money, beyond security beyond wealth, beyond prosperity.

Those who ignore or undermine the cause of West Papua independence are the ones who do not understand the real meaning this struggle. Those who support this struggle right now, we believe, receive blessings in their hearts and minds, in their life, because this life and this planet Earth knows that New Guinea is important for our survival.

Gen. Tabi also mentions that New Guinea is the home of all Melanesians.

All Melanesians come from New Guinea, we spread across the island countries from West Papua to Fiji, and all Melanesians have full right to come back to this Island when anything at all happens to the small islands across the South Pacific. We should not put hope on Australia, but New Guinea is our original home and out future home. Imagine when all small islands are threatened to be under water, and New Guinea is fully occupied by Malay-Indos, when will Australia host Melanesians? No, impossible because Australia today is occupied by Europeans, not our brother-Aborigines.

We all Melanesians are fighting in defending our race, and in protecting our home-land from being occupied by foreigners. We are protecting our future, the future of a grandchildren to come.

Gen. WPRA Mathias Wenda: Let All Beings Sing, Praise the Lord for PCWP Support in Geneva Last Night

In the morning of Thursday, March 2, 10`7, I woke up from my sleep, wandering why this morning, the birds and other beings on the ground, were making a lot and a lot of noise, not as usual. I was also visited by many guests during my sleep: all troops who dies in the fight against Indonesia came, having a big party all night; including my younger brothers the Late Gen. Kelly Kwalik and Brig. Gen. Hans Bomay were there.

I wanted to talk to them, but they all just waved and said, “celebrate, celebrate, celebrate, ….. so many times.”

When I reconnect back to the morning dancing and singing I was having in the West Papua Revolutionary Army (WPRA) Central Headquarters in the Jungle Of New Guinea this morning, I am then told that “We are also telling you, “celebrate, celebrate, celebrate…”

I did not wait, I went out and sing songs, dancing and singing and dancing for some 30 minutes, until all other troops woke up. Most of them joined into my songs, others were confused. They thought, “How come this old man is now drunk? He is a priest, carries the Bible on the right hand, and his gun on the left hand, but now he is drunk?” They thought “No, he is not drunk”.

I praise you the Lord, Almighty God, for your creation of this New Guinea Island, for the people of Melanesia, for our culture, for wisdom and understanding that you gave us, that make us unique in this planet Earth, that glorify your own power and presence. Today I praise you the Lord, for what you have done to me and to my struggle to free my people from the colonialism of Indonesia.

You have created us Melanesians and given us our places, starting from Raja Ampat of West Papua to Fiji, from Biak and Manus Islands to New Caledonia, this is what we humans ended up calling ourselves as Melanesian peoples, the peoples of the Black Archipelago, to pair with the Black Continent of Africa.

This morning I have a vision, that singing and dancing is the key towards victory, and together with the spirits of those who have died during this struggle, I now wake up, stand up, dance and sing, to praise you alone.

I pray that God bless West Papua governor, my Son Lukas Enembe, PNG Prime Minister my Son Peter O’Neill, Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare Vanuatu Prime Minister Mr. Charlot Salwai, Kanak LeaderVictor Tutugoro, Fiji Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe (Frank) Bainimarama so that they stand up united, strong and one voice, for the sake of their own Melanesian Identity and Integrity, for the sake of our unity and sovereignty, as we all came out from one father, and one mother, our father is Melanesia, our mother is Melanesia.

After praying all these, Gen. Wenda quickly went to lay down and slept for about 30 minutes, then he asked one of his staff to go to connect to the Internet and read if there is anything coming out.

He then realised, that just a few hours before his dancing and praying, Seven Pacific Leaders were speaking at the UN Human Rights Commission Meeting in Geneva, on behalf of the Pacific Coalition on West Papua (PCWP).

He then asked all his staff members to clap their hands, and again praise the Lord. He then bowed his head down to the Earth, and said,

Let All Beings Sing, Praise the Lord for PCWP Support in Geneva Last Night

Gen. WPRA Mathias Wenda: Lucifer and Freeport are One Clan, Both Must go to Hell

Indonesia and Freeport McMoran Copper & Gold Inc. has been very busy in recent years and months in relation with their differences in Freeport McMoran mining operations in West Papua that started in April 1967, two years ahead of the so-called fraudulent Act of Free Choice that given the right to Indonesia to occupy and benefit from her rich natureal resources.

Right now we are entering into 50 years of operations, and Indonesia starts to show its teeth, that it is not a baby anymore, it can bite its own food, no need its mother “USA” to feed. It has strong support from Russia at this very moment, and therefore, no USA involvement will be alright.

Indonesia is preparing its own national company to take over the mining operations in West Papua.

Papua Merdeka News (PMNews) asked by phone what Gen. WPRA Mathias Wenda is proposing in this kind of situation. PMNews expected Gen. Wenda to give his opinions on the latest developments, however, he simply repined,

Lucifer and Freeport are One Clan, Both Must go to Hell. Those who want to become part of it, who want to get something about from them, or from the current development, all will go to hell as well. West Papua as a state has no goal of building a prosperous and modern West Papua society, but we want our country to be based on our inheritted tribal wisdom, in order to nurture what we have, and to promote harmony among beings. This is far more important, very spiritual, and has long-term impacts rather than just talking about human affairs such as justice, peace, prosperity, security, and so on.

The root of money is the root of all sins, and Freeport and Indonesia are talking about money. Let us West Papuans get out from it, because we want to go to heaven, not to hell.

PMNews wanted to get more clear statement on the mining operations, whether or not WPRA would support any of the party if they wanted to meet him and talk about the future of the mining in the territory of hWest Papua that he had been fighting for since the last 40 years. Gen. Wenda repeated,

I told you. All those who love money, those who talk about money are the family of the lust, from the clan of the evil, who are heading towards a place called “hell”. I am fighting for peace and harmony, I do not want to be in their “hel”, so I will not answer your question as you want me to answer.
